The Master of Science in Organizational Development & Leadership (MS in ODL) program prepares leaders to better understand organizations as dynamic systems. The ODL program applies theory and strategic organizational models and methods to help students interpret and improve workplace culture and productivity. Through action research and action learning, the ODL student uses assessment, diagnosis, and intervention processes to improve leadership, collaborative decision-making, organizational planning, and conflict resolution to enhance organizational performance. Leaders with this experience and perspective are more successful in achieving their organizational and personal goals, more effective at leading and influencing successful change and more satisfied with their careers.
The MS in ODL degree is offered at the Philadelphia campus. One key factor that distinguishes PCOM’s ODL program is its setting within a medical school and healthcare community, providing PCOM ODL students with unique opportunities for insight into healthcare systems and providers as well as their organizational issues and challenges.
The MS in ODL program is designed for working professionals, with most students pursuing their degree part-time. In order to provide flexibility for our students, all ODL courses are held on weekday evenings and on weekends. Turbo courses are conducted only on weekends. Other courses may be held primarily on weekday evenings with an occasional weekend class. Most of the students complete the MS in ODL in two to three years. However, we collaborate with students to develop a schedule that accommodates their individual life experiences and goals, which may involve extending the coursework past three years.

Scheduling of the coursework for the MS in Organizational Development & Leadership degree is as follows:
- The only pre-requisite course is ODL 501 – Foundations of Organizational Development and Leadership offered in the both the Fall and Winter Terms.
- Students select required core curriculum courses and also a menu of electives as potential course options. It is recommended that the student consult with the ODL Program Director to collaborate on the course selections.
